A small Lancashire-based primary school, was suffering prevalent problems of endless spates of vandalism and burglaries.
Like so many similar schools, this one had suffered a great number of attacks. The problem was further exacerbated by the school being a secluded building. It was proving to be far too easy a target.
"We encountered endless problems with youths removing roof tiles from the building, general vandalism, caretakers finding used syringes and major break-ins involving the removal of costly equipment such as faxes and PCs." stated Carolyn Lord, Headteacher of St Thomas C.E. Primary School, Blackburn.
The endless repair bills, insurance claims and nightly visits to the school when the alarm activated were all costly and time consuming issues to be dealt with, sometimes on a daily basis.
